LV Sports Commission Helps Promotes Successful Event
LEHIGH VALLEY, PA — Solid refereeing and perfect weather conditions helped make the 3rd annual Great Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival exactly that -- GREAT! More than 40 referees from District #6 of the Lehigh Valley Referee Chapter received rave reviews by participating youth team coaches, players and parents alike. The chapter is part of the Eastern Pennsylvania Soccer Association Referees’ Committee.

Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival to Make for "Great" Labor Day Weekend
Lehigh Valley, PA – The Lehigh Valley Sports Commission, founded in 2002 as an arm of the Lehigh Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, has landed its first major event. Colone Associates, an event management company based in New York, will bring the Great Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival to the Lehigh County Soccer Complex on August 30-31, 2003.

East Fishkill Soccer Club has already enrolled 6 teams for the Great Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival,
including its Flames and Blizzards U14 boys teams, its Rage U11 girls team, and Scream U13 girls team.
So far, they lead with the most teams in the tournament. It is expected that upwards of 70 teams ranging from
Maryland to Upstate NY, everyone wants to be a part of this quality event.
Entry deadline is August 15th!

Bethlehem to Host the U.S. Speed Skating National Spring Conference
National Event to Bring Hundreds of Visitors to the Lehigh Valley
(Lehigh Valley, Pa) – The Lehigh Valley Sports Commission – an arm of the Lehigh Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau, in conjunction with the East Penn Speed Skating Club – has successfully landed the 2005 National Spring Conference and Hall of Fame Banquet for U.S. Speed Skating. The “City Islanders,” a Division II A-League team based in Harrisburg, PA will play an exhibition friendly against the Maryland College All-Stars. The match is scheduled for Saturday, May 14th on the main field at Harford Community College with kick-off at 3:00 PM.

THE LEHIGH VALLEY LANDS THE 2005 PROFESSIONAL DISC GOLF WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
International Tournament to Bring Hundreds of Visitors to the Area this Summer
(Lehigh Valley, Pa) – The Lehigh Valley Sports Commission – an arm of the Lehigh Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau – has successfully landed the PDGA Disc Golf World Championships for the summer of 2005 (Professional Disc Golf Association). The event will be held July 23 – 30 at Allentown’s Little Lehigh Parkway and Jordan Creek Park. Quakertown’s Nockamixon State Park and Tinicum Park in Erwinna will also host matches.

Come one, come all to the 3rd annual "Great" Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival! It’s the summer family soccer vacation, of all soccer vacations! It’s played every year over the Labor Day Weekend in Allentown/Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. There are both club and select team brackets, for girls in age groups from under 10 through under 19 and for boys from under 10 through under 14. Each team is guaranteed 4 matches. The actual playing dates are Saturday-Sunday, September 3-4, 2005.

The 2nd annual Great Lehigh Valley Soccer Festival kicks-off over the Labor Day Weekend, September 4-5 on 10 soccer fields at the Sports Fields of Lehigh County Park, off of Cedar Creek Parkway, West in Whitehall/Lehigh County, PA. Sixty five youth soccer teams will be participating, 41 girls' teams and 24 boys' teams in 17 competitive age group brackets. While most of the participating teams are from Pennsylvania, others will be coming in from communities from Virginia to Canada. The FC Revolution from Sinking Springs, PA enrolled the most teams from one club, 7.
